An upgrade from the original Penley Hybrid Heater, the Hybrid Heater2 was originally designed for Tour use, working with two major OEM Tour Vans (Adams Golf & TaylorMade) in the testing and design process.

HH2 DESIGN DRIVERS

Ball trajectory is vital. A high trajectory (ballooning) leaves the player short, and a low (flat) trajectory gives the player too much roll, overshooting the green. The better ball strike is one that launches the ball a few degrees higher than the loft of the head and carries 80% of the distance to the target and then drops at a 50 to 55 degree angle to the target surface with virtually a soft impact and very little roll, allowing the player to achieve their desired distance with accuracy and confidence with every strike.

The Hybrid Heater 2 is approved and available as a Custom Order upgrade through Nike Golf, and approved by several OEM’s custom upgrade for Tour and consumers.

HYBRID HEATER2 DESIGN THEORY:

Increase shaft weight over original 80 gram model

Higher kick point to keep the ball from ballooning to accommodate USGA groove rules

Incorporate “Tip to Butt Aspect Ratio” (TBAR) to stabilize shaft integrity for maximum accuracy and “FEEL”.

The Hybrid Heater 2 takes the original Hybrid Heater to the next level and allows the player to achieve their desired distance with accuracy and confidence with every strike. Penley shafts are designed to improve the players ball striking ability.

The ET3LD shaft is ideal for:

Strong, powerful hitters that require extreme distance and control – particularly Professional Long Drive competitors as well as aspiring Long Drive Competitors.

Accommodates lower head lofts typically used in Long Drive Competitions

Competition fairway accuracy – tighter dispersion means more shots staying within the Grid – a must for all Long Drive Competitors

DESIGN DRIVERS

Fully advancing and applying the TBAR algorithm for the Long Drive shaft design. The ET3LD shaft has been upgraded and improved as well as upgrading the material used, plus geometry changes resulting in a tighter, more accurate shot placement. As well as:

Smoother load transition throughout the neutral axis, yielding a tighter dispersion – means more competition fairway accuracy

Maximum Load Transition to improve distance, accuracy and performance

Accommodates lower head lofts generally used in Long Drive events.

The tightest, most accurate manufacturing tolerances of any golf shaft manufacturer in the industry.

Although not technical in application, the ET3LD shaft gets a cosmetic upgrade: the ET3LD is gloss black and decorated with a brilliant white pearlescent sleeve unique to the Long Drive model.

The ET3LD begins a new era where the ET2LD left off.

ET3 LD DESIGN DRIVERS

Fully advancing and applying the TBAR algorithm for the Long Drive shaft design. The ET3LD shaft has been upgraded and improved as well as upgrading the material used, plus geometry changes resulting in a tighter, more accurate shot placement. As well as:

Smoother load transition throughout the neutral axis, yielding a tighter dispersion - means more competition fairway accuracy

HANDCRAFTED WITH PRECISION

All ET3LD shafts are rolled and ground with handcrafted precision practiced by no other known manufacturer. Mr. Penley himself oversees the manufacturing and quality control of each and every Long Drive shaft.

SMALL LOT NUMBERED PRODUCTIONS

The ET3LD shafts are produced in small lots of 20 or less per flex range and are individually numbered per each lot produced.

Kick (Bend Point): See TBAR*

Ball Flight (Trajectory): Mid/High

* The TBAR (Tip to Butt Aspect Ratio) Algorithm is the determining flex factor, although we do apply common flex range description to help players determine which golf shaft is best suited for their level of play.

All Penley shafts are designed primarily to meet the 1 (mid-range) of each shaft flex and fits approximately ~60% of players.

NOTE: Carter Penley developed specific Zone Flexes for the professional level player (PGA, LPGA, Long Drive and aspiring amateurs) and denotes those flexes as ‘Zone Flex Characterizations’.
Players of this level may want to contact the factory to determine if the production mid-range TBAR shaft is suitable for their specific swing.

For those that need a a different, more specific tuned shaft for their needs (such as higher/lower launch), review the Zone Flex Characterization Chart or Contact Penley directly.

WHO SHOULD PURCHASE THE ET3LD LONG DRIVE SHAFT?

The ET3LD shaft is ideal for:

Strong, powerful hitters that require extreme distance and control – particularly Professional Long Drive competitors as well as aspiring Long Drive Competitors.

Those looking for a shaft to accommodate lower head lofts typically used in Long Drive Competitions

Competition fairway accuracy – tighter dispersion means more shots staying within the Grid – a must for all Long Drive Competitors

NOT SURE WHICH PENLEY SHAFT IS FOR YOU?

SWING SPEED

Suggested Flex Selection by Swing Speed:

X – Generally 115-135+ mph. STRONG, AGGRESSIVE tempo

XX – Generally 135-145+ mph. EXTREME tempo

XXX – Generally 150+ mph. EXTREME tempo

NOTE: Swing speed average may vary based on individual swing tempo and timing.

NOTE: Due to the extreme use, All ET3LD Long Drive Shafts are precision built on custom engineering orders only and built in small lots of 20 or less at a time.
